I'M NEW HERE

Welcome to the Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church! We are so happy that you are here, and we hope to see you soon. Are you looking for a new church home? Are you new to the Christian family? We have all sinned and fallen short of the Lord. Therefore, we are all sinners. Have you ever lied? Have you ever taken something that did not belong to you and not return it? These things and many others are sins that we have all committed.

The Bible tells us that the consequence of sin is death (or separation from God) but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ. So, there is hope! Jesus died for all of our sins! And he arose three days later with all glory and power.

Imagine that you were speeding down the highway and pulled over by a highway patrol officer and given a speeding ticket. You appeared before the judge for the speeding ticket. He informed you that you have been found guilty of breaking the law and he must uphold the law and as such he must sentence you to pay a fine of $300 or spend a day in jail. You told the Judge that you could not afford to pay the ticket. He then replied, “I must sentence you today…” and at that moment a gracious friend stood to his feet and asked the judge if he could pay the fine on your behalf. The judge responded, “The state will accept the payment on your behalf, the law will be upheld, and the state will be satisfied.” You didn’t have to go to jail and the law was upheld. Jesus did this for you! Jesus did this for everyone!

As long as there is air in our lungs, we have an opportunity to repent of our sins and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior! We encourage you to accept him today! If you have already accepted Christ as your Lord and savior and you are looking for a church home, we offer many opportunities for spiritual growth here at Rising Star. We hope to see you and your family very soon!
